Hay is for Horses is proud to have passionate equine nutrition consultants

Biography

Kathryn has been working in the equine industry for over 20 years, and a rider for 30 years. Passionate about horse riding and care, Kathryn started out going to University of Guelph for their Equine BBRM program to learn more about equine business and it's place as an agricultural business. From there she went on to work as a groom for olympian and international riders in a variety of disciplines. Though passionate about all aspects of equine sport, she found there was one area she kept going back to, researching in her free time and volunteering for at every availability and that was equine health care and sports medicine.

Realizing this is was what she wanted to do, Kathryn went back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician to work along side equine vets in horse care.  It was working here that she saw the large impact proper nutrition had on horse health.

Continuing her education Kathryn went on to complete her Equine Nutrition Consulting Certification coupled with ongoing CE and research into the latest proven findings in supplements, digestion, and other facets of nutrition.

Kathryn aims to provide a wholistic, balanced approach to nutrition focusing on research-based changes that are proven to help our equine friends & athletes.

Mission

Our mission is to help owners navigate their horse's nutritional needs so they have more time to enjoy riding and horsemanship without worry.

How It Works

We first start with a free consultation. During this time we review your goals for your horse, areas where you may be struggling and what you are looking for going forward. From here you will be given a recommended nutrtition plan to book for a time that works for you.

Once you have completed a consultation and book a nutrition plan, we meet to go over all aspects of your horses nutrition, areas that can be improved and review your goals in order of priority. This is put into a program to assess nutritional balance based of NRC recommendations. This is then adjusted with nutritional changes to meet optimal levels for the goals and demands of your horse.
